I want to help you make the most and get the most from your branding session! I want you to make it fun and enjoy the whole thing, but also remember to bring your personality to YOUR brand! Remember your favorite colors (even if its not in your branding, it can make for a fun get to know me post!), something unique about you (maybe you love the outdoors, or animals, or you incoorperate your kids), and pick out your outfits and props BEFORE your shoot!! These are simple things to remember that you can add to your session and make it more fun and unique to you.
There’s a few MUST do’s before your session and I am going to share 3 with you. One of the most beneficial things you can do is communicate your brand! Be upfront about what you’re wanting from your shoot. Have some inspiration pictures, words won’t always be able to express what you’re mind is thinking vs. mine. With that, note your colors. With my higher packages I am ALWAYS up for purchasing a backdrop in whatever color you prefer, I want to get your vision clearly!
So you’ve now booked your session and made your vision clear and communicated well what you’re expecting, now what?
First, I want you to choose your outfits. Based off what package you have chosen you’ll get so many outfits, but if you LAYER your clothing items it’ll seem like you got more outfits than you actually had! For example, add a hat, jacket, or tank under your T-shirt/sweater. Order your outfits in a way that makes for quick changes and you’ll have more time behind the camera.
Second, make sure you know what props youre going to use and make sure you’re organized with them! The more prepared you are the smoother your shoot will go which in turn means more photos, and if you’re not including any props that’s okay too!
Third, I typically will make a mood board for each of my clients of shots that I am thinking, but it’s always good for you to add some as well and make sure that your vision is clearly communicated. If there are any MUST HAVE shots make a list and then we won’t forget them!!
These are just three things that can help level up your branding sessions with me. I hope that you all take this advice and really apply it to your session whether its with me or another photographer, the more prepared you are the smoother things will go!!!
